I. CALL TO ORDER-Aram Bayzaee
                                                Introduce ourselves to the Park District reps.
II. REPORTS OF OFFICERS:
 
A.        President’s Report- Aram Bayzaee –
  • Reintroduce Master’s Racing
  • Growth potential in women and youth
  • Presented Donation Sheet
  • Suggested that we provide crowd preems (has interested companies already)
  • Park District Logo must be on all flyers, park district requires a lead out time of two weeks to approval flyers
  • Currently searching for a TOTY, typically sponsored at $500
 
 
B.         V.P. of Rider Development-Chris Mailing – Present
  • Reported on the HS Program
  • Brochure for Park District Program to be sent out in Winter/Spring
 
C.        Government Relations Director’s Report-Mark Harris (absent)
 
D.        Race Director-Marcus Moore – Present
  • Sent out skeleton schedule prior to the meeting
  • Presented schedule to attendees
  • Presented information on Jrs Weekend, which will serve as a tune-up for the Jr Nationals
  • Proposed season opening for May 18 with a last night of racing for Sept 7. (Note: May 25 was later approved by the Park District as the first day of competition).
  • USCF Master’s IL State Champs: conflicts with soccer (Note: Later approved to the weekend of July 22-23)
  • Highlighted the fact that Elite qualifiers must be done over a weekend per USA Org regulations (Elite + Women Beginning Aug thru Sept 16)
 
Stacie – (NB Parks) indicated that she will verify if the weekends and she indicated that she need our documentation by the end of January.
 
  • 1st time this year, there will be a volunteer clinic/orientation
  • General race clinics begin May 8 – Monday Clinics have been approved and Tuesday Clinics in May are still pending
 
A discussion broke out about the logistics of the NCC logistics/management
 
  • Registration: ROTY, TOTY
  • Consideration for Master’s ROTY
  • Materials need prior to opening: registration forms, printer (not working/defective), proposal/discussion to automate registration;
  • Gareth will present to the board on automating the registration process
  • Alberto’s proposed sponsoring the ROTY at $2500
  • $400 ROTY winning by Jason Garner Jr. was returned/donated back to the NCC general fund
 
 
E.         Communications Director-Imelda March – Present
  • presented Elaine Nekritz Trophy – go ahead and Alberto’s as the sponsor
  • suggested that the Women Track Clinic to be held on May 13 (rain Date May 20) Note: The rain date was later approved for Saturday, June 3.
  • provide list to Sponsorship Director 2005 sponsors
 

F.         Public Relations Director-Steve Goldberg
  • indicated that business are interest in promotion that bring money back to sponsors stores/businesses
  • possible promotion with Robby Ventura
  • Product sponsors: Cliff Bar, Power Gel
  • Suggestion of setting up a sub-committee to help with raising funds for the velodrome
  • Highlight velodrome selling points: past info provided by Mr. Vitallo and statistics are available
  • Link sponsors websites
 
G.                 Sponsorship Director-Pete Janunas – Present (resigned)
·        Resigned that night,
·        Chris Mailing proposed to vote that Steve Goldberg take over the sponsorship role.  All were in favor and Steve was voted in as the new Sponsorship Director. Steve accepted the Sponsorship Director position and resigned as Public Relations Director. The Public Relations Director position is now vacant.
                         
H.                 Treasurer and Finance Director - Marc Colbert – Present
·        Vote was taken to approve the release of funds to pay for the remaining track pavement items including final resurfacing payment. $43,603.68.
·        Marco now has check books (taken over from Franco)
·        ATRA fees due: $100 (approved for payment)
·        Outstanding State of Secretary bill (provided for payment)
·        He indicated that we all have an influence in drawing sponsors to the velodrome
·        Major sponsors name should be announced via the PA system during races

Bob Jager presented the following:
  • Task force to promote cycling in the community
  • Promote velodrome awareness
  • Requested a pledge of $200-$300 from the NCC
  • Plan to promote Earth Day (April)
  • Push to increase the amount of available bike paths facilitating youth riding to/from school
  • Suggested the NCC liaison with the Chamber of Commerce
