Who will be rider of the year?

Northbrook, Illinois – August 30, 2005 –  The Ed Rudolph Northbrook Velodrome is preparing to say “adios” to one more year of competition.  The year has been filled with many exciting moments but on Thursday, September 1, the riders are preparing to race to pick up points to determine the Rider of the Year.  Jay Keltner (Alberto Sport’s) and Francine Haas (Alberto Sports) will be there to solidify their positions.


There will be a ceremony to commemorate the final day of racing for the season in which the velodrome Rider of Year Champions will be crowned.
XXX Racing AthletiCo, the night sponsor will also be hosting a free BBQ (with vegetarian choices) for all.

There will also be demonstrations by Tandem Track Bikes as well as the 19th Century High Wheelers.

About the Ed Rudolph Northbrook Velodrome:  The newly resurfaced velodrome, located just north of Chicago suburban Northbrook.  Several fundraising efforts helped save the facility.  The velodrome attracts cyclist from multiple states.  (www.northbrookvelodrome.org)

About XXX-Racing AthletiCo:  the team was founded in 1999 by a group of professional couriers who wanted to extend their cycling experienced to organized racing.  Members compete in the North Central region of the United States in road, track, cyclocross and mountain bike races.  XXX-Racing AthletiCo has a women and junior development team.  The junior development team produced a national champion and a silver medal at the 2003 junior world championships.
